Abstract

Kemampuan mengenal konsep bilangan merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan konsep bilangan 1–5 pada anak usia 3–4 tahun melalui kegiatan bermain loose parts di PPT Harapan Kita Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dalam dua siklus, dengan subjek 10 anak dan satu guru kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup observasi, tanya jawab, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan: aktivitas guru mencapai 93,05%, aktivitas anak 88,88%, dan kemampuan konsep bilangan anak 90%. Peningkatan ini didukung oleh penggunaan media loose parts yang konkret, menarik, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan anak. Media tersebut mampu meningkatkan partisipasi aktif dan antusiasme anak. Penelitian dihentikan pada siklus II karena seluruh indikator ketercapaian telah terpenuhi. Keterbatasan penelitian meliputi waktu singkat, jumlah subjek terbatas, variasi kemampuan anak, serta faktor eksternal dan keterbatasan instrumen observasi.

The ability to understand number concepts is a crucial aspect of cognitive development in early childhood. This study aims to enhance the number concept ability for numbers 1–5 in children aged 3–4 years through loose parts play activities at PPT Harapan Kita Surabaya. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, involving 10 children and one classroom teacher as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement: teacher activity reached 93.05%, children's activity 88.88%, and children's number concept ability 90%. This improvement was supported by the use of loose parts media, which were concrete, engaging, and aligned with the developmental characteristics of early childhood. The media effectively increased children's active participation and enthusiasm in learning number concepts. The study was concluded after the second cycle as all success indicators had been achieved. Limitations of the study include a short implementation period, a limited number of subjects, varying levels of children’s ability, external influencing factors, and the qualitative nature of observation instruments..
