Metode Praktis Pengembangan Bahasa dan Literasi Anak Usia Dini di RA Nurul Ummah Sidoarjo

Abstract This study aims to describe and analyze practical methods of early childhood language and literacy development applied at RA Nurul Ummah Sidoarjo. Early childhood language and literacy development is a crucial foundation for children's academic success and social-emotional development. The approach of this study is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and principals, and document studies related to the curriculum and learning activities. The results of the study indicate that RA Nurul Ummah integrates language and literacy development through various integrated activities, including: (1) The habit of reading picture books interactively; (2) Storytelling and retelling activities; (3) using visual methods such as videos, pictures or seeing real objects; (4) creating an environment that supports children's language development, such as sticking walls with various literacies and so on. The successful implementation of this method is supported by an environment rich in literacy stimuli, the active role of teachers as facilitators, and parental participation in stimulating language at home.
