Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of PIAUD teachers at RA Ma'arif 1, Metro City through training and the provision of numeracy learning modules integrated with early childhood social-emotional development. Based on the results of needs identification, teachers still face limitations in developing play-based numeracy learning and are not optimal in managing children's social-emotional aspects. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the activity was carried out in four stages: planning, training, implementation, and reflection. The community service team developed a numeracy module with a food theme  subtheme of ice cream—which was combined with an emotional strengthening strategy through the co-regulation method. Training was provided through workshops, classroom simulations, and the creation of "ice cream" play media that supports the achievement of cognitive, motor, social, and emotional competencies. The implementation results showed an increase in teachers' abilities in implementing numeracy learning in a contextual, creative, and play-based manner, as well as an increase in children's positive involvement in counting activities, color recognition, cooperation, sharing, and emotional management. The joint reflection showed that the resulting media and modules were easy to use and relevant to class needs. This activity resulted in an integrated social-emotional numeracy module that can be replicated in other early childhood education institutions as a fun, holistic learning alternative in accordance with the principles of Freedom to Learn.
