Revitalisasi Permainan Tradisional Sunda dalam Kurikulum PAUD: Studi Kasus Pembentukan Karakter di Lembaga PAUD Khas Sunda

This study aims to examine the revitalization of traditional Sundanese games in learning at PAUD institutions as a strategy for character formation in early childhood. The background of this study is based on the importance of contextual and local culture-based character education in facing the challenges of globalization and the fading of traditional values among children. Traditional games are seen not only as a means of entertainment, but also as an educational vehicle that contains noble values such as responsibility, cooperation, sportsmanship, honesty, and empathy. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, PAUD principals, and parents, as well as documentation of learning activities. The study was conducted at one of the typical Sundanese PAUDs in West Java that consistently integrates traditional games into the curriculum. Data analysis was carried out thematically through the stages of data reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The results of the study showed that the integration of traditional Sundanese games into the PAUD curriculum significantly contributed to the formation of children's character. Playing activities that are carried out routinely with values that are explained contextually, children learn while playing in an environment that is familiar with culture. The main supporting factors for the success of this implementation are teachers' understanding of the values in the game, local community support, and flexible curriculum design. These findings reinforce the urgency of preserving local culture as part of character education and support the contextual learning approach in PAUD.
