Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) has a very important role in shaping children's character from an early age. PAUD teachers not only serve as educators, but also as facilitators in instilling character values ​​that are the foundation for children's development in the future. This study was conducted at PAUD IT Harapan Mulia Ngawen with 15 students in group B class Al-Zahrowi and 1 class teacher. The purpose of this study is to explain the importance of the role of teachers in instilling character values ​​in early childhood in Indonesia in general. This study uses a qualitative research method. In order to be able to apply the desired character values, one of the approaches that can be applied is through the seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children which is one of the programs of the Ministry of Education and Culture, which includes positive thinking habits, independence, responsibility, caring, cooperation, discipline, and creativity. This study discusses the strategic role of PAUD teachers in implementing these habits. The application of the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children is an effective approach in instilling positive values ​​in children. Through these habits, they show significant changes in behavior, such as becoming more proactive in learning, independent, and able to work together with friends. In addition, the habit of thinking before acting, respecting differences, and communicating well are increasingly developing in everyday life. With this approach, children not only develop academically, but also grow into individuals with character who are ready to face challenges and contribute to society. The results of this study are first, children are more enthusiastic about waking up early because of the encouragement and cooperation of teachers and parents, second, in carrying out worship, especially in this case prayer, children will get values/points according to the prayers they do, third, after waking up early at home, they are also accustomed to morning exercise, fourth, children are also accustomed to eating healthy and nutritious foods that contain protein, vitamins, minerals, etc., fifth, children are accustomed to being fond of learning, both reading, writing and other activities according to their age and stage of development, sixth, children when at home play with their peers around their house, seventh, children when at home are accustomed to sleeping on time, namely at most at 20.00 WIB already asleep.
